About Me

Hi, my name is Astrid.

It is my belief that the internet should be creative and free. Creators should be free to put what they want on the internet, within reason. The internet should also be free from monetary incentive, hate, and censorship. People should also be able to go anywhere on the internet for free. The internet is faster than ever and filled with valuable data and information. Yet that information is censored or obscured by low quality data, poorly researched articles, and intentionally bad information. With more people being connected there are even less who are using or able to use the web to its fullest potential.

In early 2025 I decided I wanted to buy a domain. I was inspired by those who had been making their own websites on places like neocities and even some more obscure areas. The search engine Wiby has provided me so many examples and inspired me with the unique culture reminscent of an older version of the internet. Their ideas, their thoughts, outside of the major centralised platforms. After digging I ended up finding this domain which conveniently matches my name. Now I want to make my own place for my own thoughts. I also wanted a simple and easy to understand user interface(UI) and a UX that mimic's the feel of my configuration in Obsidian a text editor that uses markdown.
